In 1956 The Fishlandic Republic caused the great fish crisis by refusing to split up large corporations most of which sold food this caused the food prices to go up as the corporations could charge whatever they wanted because there was no competition. This lead to millions of fishes starving and dying as they were unable to pay the higher prices. Many saw this as a result of the government's failure to ensure a monopoly in the food industry would not form and they started a revolution. The revolution ultimately succeeded in 1959 and the state turned into The Democratic Republic of The Fishland. The revolution originally promised freedom just as the previous government had had however in reality The Democratic Republic of The Fishland was a totalitarian regime under the control on Fish Fisher The Third. Fish Fisher The Third was a harsh leader who killed many more than the crisis ever did. In conclusion, the fish crisis and the events that followed were a terrible tragedy resulting in more than 56 million deaths.

Many years later in 1981 the Fishlandic Republic had a coup that removed military dictator Fishtonson Fishsen from power. It established a a new government ran by the Fishlandic Democratic Revolutionary Organization. After the coup a 3 year period of true democracy followed in these 3 years the country had underwent its first truly democratic election since the 1959 revolution. The 3 year period was ended by a coup putting military dictator Fishco Fisherez Fishenez in power. Fishco Fisherez Fishenez despite being a dictator brought the country prosperity. He built much of the countries infrastructure during his dictatorship as he was a dictator he naturally imprisoned his political opponents. Fishco Fisherez Fishenez's dictatorship was ended by another coup in 1994 that put the Fishlandic Democratic Revolutionary Organization (now Fishlandic Democratic Union) in power. The FDU established a democratic government that had election between numerous competing political parties. Under this government commonly called the Third Republic the country prospered thanks to oil money. Unfortunately when oil money ran out the people used to having the government use money on numerous social programs took to the streets to protest and these protest only got more violent eventually leading to a successful coup led by the Fishlandic Communist Party. They continue to lead to this very day through a extremely totalitarian government. Every day that passes revolution gets closer the fish cant take it anymore and it shows.
