It was an very very enjoyable game until I realize what I did in the options menu, probably was the death of my game fantasy, and indeed, I turned on auto mode for crusade. Being a new player having no idea that prevented my progress once I got to the map, I rested, skipped time and still NO PATHWAY to location is UnKNOWN! One and two little crusade castles stayed were they where on the map (with no access to see WTH the generals are doing), as more enemy icons showed flourishing in numbers and get this: corruption got so worst even though I had high protection against it (24 DC vs 18 or something); it was nearly the death of me!
Sigh...I don't like paying for broken game systems...maybe, just maybe some publishers and game creators can learn from companies like Crate entertainment hell even Blizzard who botched their game but did their best with patches. I don't play them games anymore but coming to this is a huge impact and tells me to stay away from crpgs...or am I being pessimistic. And it does't seem to matter with it off, Morale is broken, I hire mercenaries and still the game cheats me and makes my fighters run away so I get no turn at all!!!! What enticed the developer to do this (it needs to be fair and even on story crusade mode it stilled destroyed me), the whole crusades is no better than the real life crusades, which is a pitiful history of mankind. But you can hear my frustration.
I had high hopes for this game but Tyranny ran fine, Pillars of Eternity 1& 2 had it moments but made it through them. I can go on....This game I have a love & hate with it, I can't even make it pass a screen without a serious major tech issue or game mechanic. I miss the days of Xenogears but hey, not all is gray. Purchase at your own risk and know that just as fun as it is great, its equally buggy but I still think its one of the best crpgs out there, I am torn but adore it to continue with it.
Updated 3/8/2022: I am changed, the story is so great in this game! The char customization is unbelievably descriptive and in-depth. The reading is pulchritudinously delicious and delivers! Yes, I still stand on the crusade map challenge and even the creature : Playful....., I won't spoil it but instant death for me. Yet, I suggest you play it.
