Early Access Review
No, at least not right now.

Amazing aesthetics, cool voice acting, solid hero designs, good game controls and a fluid combat. In terms of the general feeling of the world it offers, it does not fall short of The Curse of the Dead Gods. Absolutely better in a limited number of areas.

However the game is also frustrating to an extent. It feels like it was balanced with only co-op in mind. In my 2 hours of solo experience with The Snow Queen and The Pied Piper, it just felt... unrewarding? Unreasonably punishing? I think it would be a $wiser$ choice to lean more towards a rogue-lite genre, rather than a rogue-like one. Even though I loved most of what this game offers, it still felt like a chore after 3-4 attempts. I don't know if it's just my taste, but this difficult introduction was not what I was expecting.

There needs to be a power balance for solo gameplays, especially for The Snow Queen. It was just underwhelming. I could even call The Pied Piper overpowered compared to that.

Just one dodge? I mean why? Introduce a stamina system like you have in The Curse of the Dead Gods and let us have an even more dynamic combat.

Character progression and skill unlocks felt a bit too slow and random, considering the unnecessarly implemented timer/countdown for the boss fight.

Speaking of the countdown... again, I'd rather have something similar to the linear room progression in The Curse of the Dead Gods, to reach the boss fight. I get that this game tries to have more of an "open-world" type of approach, but what actually is the point of an open-world if I'll just have to run around with a ticking time bomb, rushing to kill as many mobs quickly and unlock some upgrades. If I won't be able to enjoy the "open" world, and be forced to rush through it, just make it a linear "room after room" system and at least let me play with my desired pacing within those rooms.

I'll sadly get a refund for this now, and check back later if these sort of updates have been implemented. Next time I buy, I'd also expect at least a 35-40% discount as well. I honestly hope to see it get improvements and waaay more content (not hero options), and maybe get addicted to it in the future!

There is nothing more cringe than idiot fanboys that attack people for giving constructive feedback in a negative review. It is time to self-reflect on the type of person you are and stop attaching your identity to whatever you're consuming in the moment, or in far fewer words; GET A LIFE.

Thanks for the review btw. I will be avoiding this game as well for now.

For those that hate that this was within the refund window:

The refund window specifically endorses the idea of either liking a game enough to go past 2 hours, or finding something that prevents you from going past those 2 hours.

Respect the man's opinion, and stop spilling your salt just because you fail to understand that fun can be granted immediately if done right. Go play PSO2 NGS if you want to wait for fun instead.

I mainly play Alladin and sometimes beowulf, and in my experience the solo experience was way easier than the coop one.
I actually like the "Time-bomb" system, as i like to play under pressure as it needs me to perfom the best i can to achieve the goal.
But i totally understand your point and its not for everyone, as some people want to completely want to explore the open world.
Its probably the best if they could add 2 Gamemodes, one with the time system and one where you need to find the boss and can activate the fight for whenever you want to.
I was completely fine with the leveling system tho, didnt have any issues with that.

Got to love the terminally online incels who're upset someone is making an indirect attack on them by negatively reviewing their new fawowite gwame.

Thank you for your review. If anything, it showed me how toxic the fanbase is when reacting to negative reviews. That can be as bad as any in-game issue, so I'll stay away.

lmao imagine playing for under 2 hours, understanding exactly how the developers should make their game, refunding it, THEN ASKING FOR A DISCOUNT

bro spent more time writing this review than playing the game. I would pay money to see this man's gameplay. I'm sure this guy died to scythe pig every time he saw one.

You wrote all this after barely two hours? Wow.. I don't know what to say. Certainly not gonna take your review seriously, as it seems you just suck at video games.

I agree with everything you said, don't let the salty players past their refund window talk you down LOL

you can more than see the problems in this release in 2 hours. Anyone who doesn't either doesn't value their money and their time lol *LOOK A ROADMAP*

I love Early Access games, but this isn't early access this is a damn beta test lol

In 1.9 hours, this man grasped all the concepts of the game flawlessly as well as balance, impressive.
