My favorite thing about RPG Maker MV is that it uses JavaScript as the program language so you can fairly easily port it to other systems and you can learn JavaScript in the process, although it's not absolutely required.

MV is very well supported by the community with hundreds and hundreds of plugins that can help you customize your game with different mechanics. There are also lots of art assets out there both paid and free that can help you flesh out the look of your game.
