I've been obsessed with Bayonetta ever since I saw the trailers in 2010ish, give or take. I always loved witchy things and action games, and as such Bayonetta automatically hit the spot, as I was familiar with Devil May Cry before.

Honestly, it's a game that's close to my heart, but despite the love I feel for it, it's far from a perfect game. I recommend it because it's Bayonetta. But if the prospect of a feminine, extremely high camp main character who oozes style and owns their sexuality isn't enough to reel you in, maybe the combat will. Otherwise, maybe this game isn't for you.

Initially I played it on the Xbox 360, and I can safely say that this is a superior port with a more stable framerate with none of the FPS dips.

Pros:
- I mean it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Bayonetta!
- Platinum Games action.
- So many fun combat mechanics such as dodge offsetting and juggling.
- The music and sound design.
- Mari Shimazaki's stellar character design.
- Creative art direction, unique and diverse weapons, accessories based on different mythos.
- Character models and textures honestly hold up to today's standards.
- It's not Bayonetta 2.
- Jeanne!!

Cons:
- QTEs.
- Dated level design.
- Reused levels with environmental damage peppered in sometimes, just to make them more annoying.
- Isla Del Sol. I cannot put into words how much I despise the missile sequence.
- Really dusty, poopy palette all around. It feels like there's a brown filter over everything.
