A terribly terrific detective/noir RPG with expert writing that provokes strong emotions and thoughts, sometimes even politically. That's no cause for alarm, no bias in this game! Disco Elysium was easily a fantastic buy, especially during the Summer Sale when I picked it up for $30, and some things will still stick with you after the game ends. Disco Elysium also teaches you that failure isn't all too bad, as when you fail certain checks or such, you'll find it a much more interesting and sometimes better outcome. It made me unafraid to fail, and even refrain from save scumming.

Speaking of the ending (no spoiling; don't worry), let me tell you that the journey to it is more memorable than the destination... however, maybe because I've played in a certain way it's like that? Anywho, I'd definitely recommend this. I've seen lots of people say "it's not for everyone", which could be true. It's one of those games that gets you out of your comfort zone a bit. I think it should be something that everyone should experience if you love story rich RPGs. Despite the lack of traditional combat, my heart was pumping during a certain tribunal with lots to risk on the line, and I felt myself sympathize, empathize, and care for characters in the game. Kim's a total bro.

If you want a little bit of a tip before you start, I'd recommend an average build. Don't specialize, generalize. You have lots of skill points and other bonuses down the road that can help you define your character if you wish. Also, don't be afraid to fail a skill check, like I said prior, and absolutely do not constantly save and go back if you do! That's more like stripping yourself of experience and potentially more entertaining routes to go down.
