unlike how it works in every single other souls game, in ds2 backsteps have iframes, they arent instant though so u gotta time it, the number of iframes they have scales with ur ADP stat just like with rolling
id also say 300k-500k SM is good for learning pvp, its enough points to have a decent stat distribution and the hosts youll fight wont be that good
1.5-1.7 million SM is the meta, its mostly what youll find people in arena at
blue acolytes SM+ invasions is a big help though, a lot of people are playing at massive SM ranges in the DLC areas
