👾 RoboCop: Rogue City (🇵🇱 2023)

A nostalgic trip back to the universe created in the first movie, having Peter Weller back as RoboCop. Developers nailed the vibe of the film and it’s a more than decent addition to the lore. Gameplay wise though it’s quite repetitive, reminiscent of the early 00s shooters. Game would’ve have been better if it was at least a 40% shorter.

👾 Lake: Season’s Greetings (🇳🇱 2023)

Having half of the length of the main game, Season’s Greetings is a prequel that brings us back to Providence Oaks with another wholesome story and the cozy vibes of delivering mail in a beautiful small town, now covered in snow. There are no stakes in here, and that is good.

👾 Gray Dawn (🇷🇴 2018)

This independent walking priest simulator is really something. Sometimes very disturbing, other times filled with oddly beautiful imagery. The story relies heavily on Christian mythology and, no matter which ending you get, is unsettling. Technically is a bit flawed though.

👾 Bayonetta (🇯🇵 2009)

With Bayonetta, Hideki Kamiya took the concept he started with Devil May Cry during his Capcom days, and applied it to a universe filled with witches and creatures from Christian mythology delivering a top tier action game with plenty of humor and a charismatic lead.

Second installment based on the science fiction book series Metro 2033. This one is more focused in action than in narrative, making it more challenging. It’s a good experience to wander in this dystopian world though.

A game about accepting death and learning to say goodbye. A beautiful, emotive and transformative experience disguised as a resource manager and farm simulator.

Batman: Arkham Origins. Cold, Cold Heart (🇨🇦 2014)

Extra campaign for Arkham Origins focused on the origins of Mr. Freeze. The beginning and the ending were compelling but you have to go through the usual repetitive gameplay between those bits. It’s short though.

👾 Gibbon: Beyond the Trees (🇦🇹 2022)

Game that raises awereness of the endangered species of simians and the human exploitation of the rainforest. Gameplay wise is too simple and risks making us falling into boredom, luckily it manages to raise interest with minor plot devices.

👾 Life is Strange: Before the Storm (🇺🇸 2017/2022)

Prequel that puts us in the shoes of a beloved character from the first entry of the LiS series. Despite being in hands of a different studio, it maintains the spirit of the kickstarter of the saga. However, the story is not as compelling, being the three episodes of “Before the Storm” an emo sorrow fest not suitable for all moods .

Sets the beginning of the timeline of an already stablished saga trying to milk it by applying the gameplay formula, quite repetitive at that point, to a decaf story. Overall is ok-ish.
