Primarily boss rush
The run and gun stages feel like an afterthought
Difficulty comes primarily from RNG

I really wanted to love this game; It has all the elements of a game I would love, but at the end of the day it's primarily boss rush the game with a nice looking world map. Make no mistake the game is certainly charming and well put together, it just feels like it is only half of a game. That said if you love Contra for the boss fights you will love this game.

Once you learn a boss' patterns/phases, you get gradually better.

"RNG" my ass, this isn't Hearthstone.
