This is one of the best puzzles games I ever played.

Overall      ★★★★★★★☆☆☆ - 7/10
Music        ★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆ - 5/10
Graphics   ★★★★★★★★☆☆ - 8/10
Gameplay ★★★★★★★★★☆ - 9/10
Story         ★★★★★★★☆☆☆ - 7/10

Difficulty  ★★★★★★★★★☆ (yet you can't die or softlock yourself)

CroTeam showed to me that besides a great action shooter like Serious Sam they can do also really good puzzle games.
It is like "Portal" or "The Touring Test", but has its own unique things. The puzzles are easy to ridiculous difficult, depending on how many secrets or special ending you want to unlock. But thanks to the good community guides you can decide by yourself to fetch you some hints on some puzzles or not. At least it takes some time to get the hang of it, because some puzzles need to think "out-of-the-box".

The story itself is nice, and does make you think ethically over some topics, but is very predictive.

The DLC "Road to Gehenna" has a great idea to use a forum to tell the story and mini-text-adventures. This was really fun. Though the puzzles in this DLC are really though. CroTeam really wants you to use any technique and wisdom about puzzle-solving from the main game from the start. So it is meant to be played by people who wants an extra challenge.

Flaws of this game:
  • predicitive storyline
  • deletes current savefile after one of 3 endings (advice: save out of game before doing an endgame)
Good things:
  • typical for CroTeam games: a ton of funny easter-eggs
  • cool puzzles and ideas
  • 3 endings
  • good DLC

So 7 out of 10 cats would play Talos Principle ;)
