Early Access Review
Enjoying Home Behind 2 so far. At first blush, it reminds me of Darkest Dungeon, but after playing I'd say it looks like a Darkest Dungeon in a present-day war setting, but gameplay is largely management. Another reviewer brought up Football Manager and I'd have to agree. It's all about the many ways to customize your team, base, vehicle, weapons, etc... then letting them go out and win/lose fights based on how you set everything up (with some mild active participation).

It's a lot of management too. There are many systems going on here in the game and they are all stacked on top of each other a mile high.

If you enjoy a WWF game where you are creating and customizing many wrestlers to have the joy of just watching them duke it out, or like sport management games with a lot of layers of management and mild active participation sprinkled throughout, you just might like this a lot.

Haters took an otherwise terrific game and gave it mixed reviews... because dumb reasons.

There are trends and standards in Indie games. Stygian has pleasantly defied both for me. Using basic premises but turning each system around, outside the mainstream has made this game really fun. Of course leaving the mainstream can reduce your popularity when everyone wants what they already know. People hate new and different. They want something familiar and recognizable. But Stygian does a great job where it counts: pacing, dialog, narrative, combat. It's taking an otherwise typical indie game and elevating it for me to higher standards.

It's a pretty rad Space Flight Simulator at its core, wrapped in open-world emergent game design.

I'm not, by definition, a rogue-like fan, but ToME has me smitten. I think it's very approachable and friendly to new players, yet offers depth to satisfy hardcore players as well. The other aspect I like is that it has a fun "RPG" aspect to me. I know my review is not very in-depth, but these are the reasons why I love it. I never cared much for rogue-like games, but this game really feels like it is the king of the genre. It is so much fun to play because of many characters I can create and the levels of difficulty I can adjust. Yet there is substance in the game as you play through story and tons of items to collect, enhance, sell and explore.

'Tales of the Neon Sea' isn't perfect. Some balance issues. Innovative crime-solving interface could be more rewarding & less "click to advance". Still, it's fun.
Graphics: Georgeous
Story: everything's well written & paced (the content, story structure, delivery and pacing)
Some levels you play a very interesting/cool CAT P.I.

This game is not only best of its genre, it's one of the best of the best. One of those deserving of being on a list of best games ever. Its a perfect blend of features and highly customizable through mods.

Tell me fundamentally how this is in anyway even close to FTL in any shape way or form? It's NOT. You might as well say this game is a combination of Mario + Mortal Kombat.

Classic JRPG sensibilities blended with modern-day Indie Roguelikes. Good hybrids are rare and fight the persistent distaste from each genre's hardcore followers, but Tangledeep manages to create a profound recipe with a cornucopia of game settings, class mixing and difficulty adjustments that can please new and seasoned players alike.

Solid and fun little game that carries the heart and soul of Oregon Trail with it into a new journey and experience.

City Quest has a little more heart than at first look. Some writing prowess with very few dialog mistakes and dialog is not disjointed either. It all flows well. Nice to have 4 paths to play with achievements as well.

It does have a lot of rude, crude humor so not child friendly.

You can see my video review and gameplay footage.
