Very solid cRPG. If you liked Pillars of Eternity, this is easy to recommend. It also has some of it's own, interesting ideas both similar, yet different, than PoE. Party cohesion, dual and triple classing, world greed and a twist of pickpocketing where instead of stealing - you plant items on NPCs.

Yeah. If you like cRPG's like old-school Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and especially newer titles like Pillars of Eternity, this will scratch the itch for more.

Quite literally, King of it's Genre. Maybe it could be even better, but I wouldn't know how to do that. As I enjoy it so much the way it is.

Run around and shoot, collect and repair stuff within a world filled with satisfying after satisfying gameplay. Jump, bounce, grapple, throw and mine. Every aspect is satisfying.

Palace of Ice tries WAY too hard to tap into the "Game of Thrones" political intrigue plot. But Palace of Ice also is a must-play. as its gameplay is still really, very good. some terrific gameplay due to higher level abilities, skills and spells.

Honestly, the story isn't bad. And it just further shows what is possible with the dungeon maker part.

BG3 is fun. It's probably more fun singleplayer. You get to explore the FULL game. And it's best to explore it as a book. DO NOT TRY TO DO EVERYTHING. Play the game and live with your choices. Then play it again.

Mutliplayer at 4 players means you can't do, take or see ANY companion content. Primarily. Maybe some. But essentialy you won't.

Does it desrerve the awards? Maybe. I think "Hooray for Larian. Totes, congrats".

But my favorites of the genre are: Singleplayer - Pathfinder:Wrath of the Righteous and Multiplayer Solasta. Solasta in particular will respect your love of DnD, the rules and DND multiplayer. It will respect and reward you for being a DnD and RPG fan. While BG3 won't care.

Early Access Review
I guess I'm part of the "the little people". I hate Valheim. almost 100% of the controls are basic, built-in Unity control schemes. Which is fine. Execpt when they are not fine. building in Valheim is worse that Fallout 4. You can never build what you want. but that' not bad. what is worse is. In Valheim, you are under pressure. so you are under pressure to build with a building system from basic unity structure.

The second part of Valheim is fighting enemies. Ad nauseum.. I have no idea how a game garnered so many positive reviews by not even being a new game. but by doing what other games already did.

My end result is that I'm guessing that people who loved Monster Hunter World, or love clicky phone games love Valheim.

Otherwise: the buidling in Valheim is buggier than Fallout 4. It's tricky and annoying. fighting is based on a 3rd person perspective that most game engines can provide.

Please for the love of god and all that is holy, why anyone likes this game as much as the reviews say? I will spend 10,000000000 million words on an apology if anyone can tell me.

The 'Member Berries showed us that our nostalgia and memory aren't always one and the same. Huntdown seems to be aware of this to provide us an abundance of nostalgia and gameplay we 'think' we remember and it comes out as a terrifically fun game.

I love the difficulty pacing, allowing me to adjust (somewhat) to gameplay by the end of a level and then throwing something new at me. I feel the sting of losing without the anger towards the game being "unfair".

Levels are short; much shorter than Classic Era 2D platformers, but the way I can keep approaching the game makes the levels feel so good for being shorter.

Multiple characters to try with slightly different weaponry and Arcade Mode, combined with the already brilliant level designs, have me replaying like a madman to Git Gud.

Huntdown incentives learning to be more aggressive in areas. You can snag a number of combo attacks, pull off eye-pleasing explosions and get a lot of one-liners.

This is one of the most fun 2D Platformers I've played in a very long time.

Very good game. Very good. More respect if the team behind it is small and has to fight the machine. I really enjoy the overall production value. Music is really good and even terrific in places. Graphics are great. I enjoy a lot of the gameplay. There are a few spots, gameplay wise, I would change.

The way they dish out story and lore - obviously combined with everything else - is really good, but my big criticism is that they didn't take that to the Nth level. So many opportunities are passed up to develop deep, meaningful connections to the main character, other characters and to the game as a whole. Good and amazing games don't live and die only by the game mechanics.

Quite possibly the best CRPG ever made.

If you loved OG Crpg's like Baldur's Gate. Grew up playing tabletop RPG's with friends and remember those days fondly or even just played Pillars of Eternity for the first time and find you really like this genre, Solasta may hit a sweet spot for you.

Without getting dry and technical, they pulled off some fun and interesting ways of translating tabletop RPG rules and then went a step further with interesting methods of presenting those rules and gameplay to you.

And they did it without artificially injecting unfun storytelling premises or goofy/corny narratives that take the fizz out of otherwise good fantasy storytelling - unless you create that type of character.
