If I don't respond to you in a timely fashion, or at all, it's not because of anything you did. Sometimes I just get overwhelmed and need some quiet, and occasionally I'll look at the message and read it because of the ping, and then go back to what I was doing, making the ping go away and usually forgetting to reply.
I'm sorry it happens, but sometimes it does. It's not your fault!
