Warframe has quite a lot of elements in it, many of which aren't explained all that well to new players, which can result in quite a lot of confusion at first. Once you get a couple of hours - and a few quests - into it though, things start clicking.
One of the only games I know where you can end up not even having unlocked all the gameplay features yet, even with hundreds of hours put into the game.

There's always things to do, and DE provides plenty of both smaller - and larger - events throughout the year, everything from themed weekends focused on helping people gather resources to larger multi day events where players are tasked to perform various larger universe-altering actions.

The gameplay can become a bit repetitive at times, if you're only farming for certain resources or blueprints. But there's always plenty of things available to do at all times, so there's nothing forcing you to grind missions in such a way.
