In January 2018, Beevor's book about the Battle of Stalingrad was banned in Ukraine. Beevor told RFE/RL: "I must say, this sounds absolutely astonishing. There's certainly nothing inherently anti-Ukrainian in the book at all."[20]

It is a) has no documental evidence, being pure fantasy of authors of this text b) those texts are so badly written - they largely contradict real historical facts and events.
Unlike what nazi forces did on eastern front, maradeur and violence against civil population was rare and strictly prohibited in Soviet Army up to the martial law.
