Early Access Review
[NEW REVIEW]
(You'll find my old review further down below)

After the release all aspects I pointed out negatively are gone. After +50h of playing I only experienced the game crashing once!

Baldur's Gate 3 is an amazing game if you like story pacing, DnD and beautiul graphics. I also changed my mind about the combat system. While Divinity 2's system was faster and you had more possibilites to encounter the battle, Baldur's Gate 3 let's the play think more about their actions. In my opinion the game focuses more of a battle strategie than just spamming different spells to kill the enemy.

Until now by far one of the best games i've ever gotten for my money and I can only recommend to purchase and play the game, especially with friends.

[OLD REVIEW]
I'd recommend to wait until the game is fully released (More infos below).

The game itself is beautiful, has a great story (at least to the point we played) and you dive into the world of Baldurs Gate quicker than you think. Tho I like the combat of Divinity 2 a bit more, it's interesting how they integrated the D&D playstyle. The dice'n'roll mechanic is awesome. We had some amazing moments when someone failed their dice roll and we ended up in a difficult fight. (Almost feels like real PnP) The enemies can be difficult especially if you are not prepared enough or end up in an ambush. Over all, from gameplay perspective, a great game with a lot of potential.

Now to the down sides. Sometimes the game isn't loading and you end up in an infinite blackscreen. This does not only occur when entering the game but also while playing (talking to an NPC - Loading a cut scene - going through a door - yada yada). Sometimes the camera or the models (NPC and player models alike) glitch below the surface and you end up looking at feet talking to each other.
The worst at last: Crashing. The game is crashing countless of times throughout the playthrough. While creating a character, joining a game, opening a chest, killing an enemie, talking to an NPC, opening the inventory, and so on.
Experiencing that amount of crashes had us quitting the game for now since we are not willing to continue with the game while one of us is reconnecting while another mates game crashes simultaneously.

For my part I advice everyone to wait until the early access phase is over or due to a point where the crashes don't appear every 10-15 minutes repeatedly.

To quotemyself: "The game itself is beautiful, has a great story (at least to the point we played) ... " I did *not* finish the game till now because we didnt want to continue with that many crashes occuring + we couldnt even play that much of the story since we always waited for each another to rejoin the game before we continued the journey (as I said some crashes appeared in cut scenes / while talking - we all wanted to listen to the full story, not just parts of it...)

I do exceed the minimum requirements *and* the recommended requirements for the game by far. (check my steam page for details)
So yes, I am fully capable of running the game.
And I can tell you I am the last person that rushes through a game. I didnt even know you could craft weapons and armory...

I hope you can understand my point of view.

Large amounts of actual crashing has not be reported lately. I would check that your system is even capable of running the game. However, there is known issues to UI and Dialogue that causes black screen or may make you restart. I see you only have 18hrs which means you absolutely FLEW through the campaign. There is so much hidden stuff its unreal. I have over 60hrs and im still finding new stuff? Do you complete the underdark? Did you craft your adementium weapons/armor yet or even face the boss thats guarding that forge? Btw he is massive and hard to kill. People lack actual exploration and then pick up an exploration game expecting it to hold your hand through everything available in the game...
