it's hard to tell if this game was made intentionally to be garbage or if it's just a passion project they gave up on as they were trying to figure out the code and released it anyways. it runs terribly. you can't turn off the music. you can't access the settings unless you're in the main menu. there are voicelines that don't fit at all and feel like they were translated to english. the stamina meter is useless because you can still spam the dash button at zero stamina because it recharges immediately. the roll button plays an audio sound every single time you press it, regardless of whether you finished the current roll or not. the adventure mode's platforming still has mouse control during 2d sections, meaning you can walk off the map if you move your mouse. you can softlock your game in the adventure mode level select if you press the roll button. you can fall infinitely in level 2-3 in some spots. it's hard to believe this was released.

vows to grant "amnesty" to cheaters, top three scoreboard are all near the integer limit anyways. even with the most customized autoclicker, including powerups, multiplying the kills per second to the total of two months isn't even a tenth of those values

also silently removed the achievement for getting 1 million legitimately, further backtracking against the attempts they've made to punish cheaters.

barely an idle game with linear upgrades and a "rewind" that has very little benefit upon starting each time

this is a trading card scavenger hunt, not a game. piss off.

also displays drops as once every three hours, which barely works. sometimes it drops, sometimes it doesn't. not worth the crap.

incredibly confusing halfway through starting around the pirate level, which will make you feel like an ign journalist. what makes me recommend the game is the incredibly thorough and suggestive guide on their website which nudges you towards solutions if you need them. i would say otherwise this is like "the witness" levels of thinking to get through, but maybe that's just me lol

no crosshair which adds unnecessary frustration to interacting with things(which isn't much of an issue since it doesn't get in the way of completing the game.) upon reaching floor 15 text starts to overlap your vision, and then at floor 10 your vision is changed significantly, making some anomalies incredibly difficult to spot. this lasts until floor 5 when it's dark instead of a weird red fisheye effect.

overall, this game is much more difficult than other anomaly-spotting games because it's much longer along with more details to pay attention to. i personally think the difficulty is just fine, though. it's just the attempt the game makes near the end to force a failure upon you that ruined the fun of it for me.

roleplayed as a brain-damaged loony and a modder focused on me for the entire five hours i was on that server trying to kill me and make me leave; he then resorted to get me a 1 month suspension for not doing what he wanted

text oftentimes overlaps outside the display for english subtitles so you can't see it. the radio broadcasts are long, which is both a good and a bad thing; it provides extra context and lore, but also leaves you around twiddling your thumbs waiting to do something. it's a bit of an annoying feature when there's no save/load option, and is also annoying for the hidden achievement. overall, it's an okay game, with an unexpected ending that provides more confusion than relief or satisfaction; this is where i believe the duration of each day's broadcast causes some disconnection between the game's storyline and the progression.

the first day is where you're introduced to how the broadcasts keep you waiting around. you'll likely look at the forums, read it all, and then browse the desktop for more things to keep you occupied while you listen. none of the games can be played as far as i can tell, and leaves you with a couple of other things to do. there's the drawing application, and then there's the controls you can finish getting used to. after that, you might try to leave, but are prompted with having to listen to the whole broadcast before departing, as well as the extra forum posts after the broadcast ends. if you're forced to listen to it all, it doesn't feel right to make you read the whole forum post regarding these tips. once you get outside, there isn't too much guidance towards what you're supposed to do to complete the day, potentially made easier or harder based on how well you read and listen to the broadcast. i don't see anything wrong with this, as it's letting the player understand for themselves what to do. it definitely makes the second day easier to understand and proceed through.

on the second day after going on the forum, there's a knock at the window, and a creature hides from view of the window once you look at it. you can take a photo of it, but...it serves no purpose. it seems like the game's more story-driven than it is focused on alternative choices the player can make, which isn't necessarily a bad thing; however, when you're given so much time waiting for the broadcasts to finish, it feels like it intentionally gives you the time to consider choices, even after thinking about the story, the lore, and potential theories you may have yourself. on the other hand, the second day, which allows you to explore beyond your house, is where the somewhat atmospheric horror first delivers an unsettling into your mind. i have to applaud the game for that, despite the simple techniques utilized, because it did give me an extra sense of rush towards finding what i was looking for. compared to other short horror games with retro 3d graphics, it executes this surprisingly well; games like "missing hiker," or "unsorted horror" to be more specific. those games let you adapt to the unsettling atmosphere with little to no triggers during that which might put you on edge even more, and then throw it all at you at once at the end in a jumpscare that's intended to be delivered when you're not as tense.

the third day repeats the process again with the broadcast keeping your inside; on the plus side, this broadcast isn't as long. like the second day, you get three objectives, which are a bit more complex. this is even more unsettling than the previous day, though, depsite a lack of triggers or unsettling sounds that give you paranoia. this is where the tension starts to fade, however, because there's not as much expectation for jumpscares. it still warranted me to close the door behind me when getting back to the house.

the fourth day is where things suddenly go south. it brings back the tension, but not as much; it's moreso replaced with confusion, at least for me; i won't spoil specifically what happens. you're expecting jumpscares because of some sounds you hear and some mechanics you have to use to proceed, but...nothing happens. it's a bit of a disappointment, especially with the epilogue which leaves even more confusion. why did it turn towards this ending? as for the broadcast...it lets you leave and ignore it if you want, which brings you to the end of the game.

overall, the game has simple yet effective execution towards tension and spookiness. it just doesn't fit the storyline very well, because it's an atmospheric horror. it follows the trend of typical games under that category, where there's constant uneasiness because of your surroundings. while the broadcasts take up a good chunk of the playtime you put into this game, they don't build up tension or emphasize/enhance the unsettling senses you're evoked with once you progress through each day, which is why i believe they weigh the game's potential down. maybe i'm an ungrateful f*ck ignoring the somewhat pleasant ending, but my usual reaction to such endings not being there for this game leads me to think otherwise.

fries your pc when you shift+tab

i've nearly hit 1000 hours in this game, which i'm quite ashamed to say. to call this a gambling game is an understatement; the droprates are exaggerated. you are guaranteed never to get the two rarest achievements unless you buy them for the ridiculous price they're listed for, because a few players have gone through the liberty of setting up several bot accounts to idle the game and open thousands of crates to get the rarest items in the game. their support email also no longer exists, so i'm fairly certain they've abandoned the project.

game attempts to cull cheaters and encourage legitimacy by forcing a "cheater" pop-up if you click too fast. problem with this is that you can do this legitimately as well, via spamming both spacebar and mousebutton(butterfly especially). funny thing is, too, they didn't restrict all inputs for that pop-up, so if you find a way to make an autoclicker with spacebar, it does nothing to stop you.

on top of that, i'm fairly certain that you could probably just use cheat engine to get to 1 million if you wanted to, but i'm going to get there first legitimately before i try that. i'll revise as appropriate when i do so.
