Cartoonish " stylized / simplified " graphics in modern gamedev are just a form of cost-cutting production, aimed at the mass market where quality is never valued. Photorealistic graphics are the only right way for AAA games. Quality stylization of graphic art can only exist within the bounds of photorealism. Where do virtual games start?
- For me it was 8-bit and 16-bit games on NES and SEGA MD 2 (Genesis). Night Elf Warrior (all 3 specs) Mining/Skin, Night Elf Druid (I'm a feral cat!) Alch/Herb.

- Minecraft is one of the best phenomena in computer games industry. That's what stylization is. Unfortunately, M$ bought it, and after that development is dead. Now you can get a single mushroom cow per year. Is that game worth its money? Definitely not.
