The game is basically Nioh 1.5, if you liked the first game, you'll like this one. Not much has changed about the core gameplay loop, it's still more of an ARPG with loot, grinding, etc. with some souls-like elements. If you were turned off by this in the past, don't like inventory management or stuff like that, the sequel is unlikely to change your mind.

Many of the core skills and moves are still the same, with a bunch of new ones and new weapon types, to change it up just enough.

The addition of Yokai Shift and Yokai Abilities is great. While I don't use the former that often (more of an oh ♥♥♥♥ button, like Living Weapon previously), I use the abilities all the time.

I play pretty slow and carefully, just like Nioh 1, so it took me 170 hours to finish everything (including DLC, hidden stuff in missions, etc.) on the lowest difficulty. I've started NG+ (Dream of the Strong) and can now go through everything much quicker.

The limited number of Twilight missions is a let down. Just like in the first game you'll get the same levels over and over again. I still do them for the crafting materials, but otherwise they are extremely boring.
