This game is Verdun on steroids. Only thing missing is a trench foot mechanic.

My wife dropped a pan in the kitchen and I almost killed her by accident. Looking forward to night terrors in my 50s! Great game. 10/10

This game has some of the saltiest degenerates I've ever seen in my whole life. People will get pissed off if you use any weapon at all. On top of that, combat went from crazy chaotic battles full of swords and arrows to awkward body twisting and movement exploiting metas. Mordhau has just become Chivalry with better graphics.

TL;DR This game was fun when people didn't know how to play it.

CS:GO Review
When I first started playing this game back in the day, I really liked it. I met some amazing friends and had some incredibly fun games that I still remember to this day but eventually took a break for a couple years to focus on school and relationships. In 2020, I revisited it and at this point it doesn't even feel like the same game anymore.

The CS:GO community has become one of the most toxic and unfriendly communities in gaming. I no longer find any joy in playing matches because of this. Prices for keys and cosmetics are ridiculous, hackers have taken over, and the first 500 hours of your playtime will be stuck in silver where people with anywhere from 2 hours to 800 will be playing with you.

This game used to be great. What happened to you, CS?

TL;DR: This is the game sci-fi geeks have always wanted to play. You will have lots of fun with it now but will love it even more in the future.

This game is like FTL if it was 3D, co-op and a million times more intricate, complex and diverse. Although the graphics aren't anything special, the mechanics of the game and the atmosphere are more than enough to make you feel like you're really a vital crew member partaking in a dangerous but epic voyage through a politically and physically devastated galaxy. I have only started playing and, although I have no friends to team up with, I've enjoyed every second of my solo adventures.

However, this game is far from perfect. To my knowledge, at the time of writing this, the game doesn't have a victory conditions like defeating an enemy flagship, winning a galactic war, finding a cure for the looming infection or escaping the galaxy before the infection takes you out. With no end game goal it sometimes feels like you're working up to nothing. This may not be an issue to many but still a warning for some.

That being said, the game is still in early access and the devs have been doing outstanding work providing new content and polish constantly. There is plenty more Pulsar to come and oh boy is it exciting.

EDIT: The game now has a victory condition! Great job devs!

I spend my summers without wifi at a cottage and this game made me survive. In the words of General Sam, the game is like an abusive housewife, no matter how much she beats you and screams in your face, you'll always come crawling back.

If you're looking for a game that is completely unique and very different from anything you have played, this is it.
Sub Rosa just grabs you and drops you right into the world of Quentin Tarantino-esque business deals, corporate espionage and gritty violence but leaves it a little light hearted with it's goofy physics and graphics.

If there's one thing about this game I love the most, it would be the community. Every player is almost fully in character and never fails to make this game enjoyable. There is barely any toxicity and (at least from my experiences) very kind players. One of which was a very frugal man with an over the top Jewish accent who would constantly take his eyes off the road while driving to compliment my eyes. Because the playerbase is small at the moment, you end up playing with the same people sometimes which I personally find quite relaxing.

However, this game is in no means perfect. Obviously it is in alpha at the moment so there are some issues still needing to be fixed like optimization issues. If I had to complain about this game, I would say the price point is a little too high for the content of the game.

That leads me to my next point which is that the game's devs are still adding more and more to this game to make it complete. Although it has been in development for a while, I've already seen major improvements to the game in the short time I've been playing.

TL;DR

Sub Rosa is worth the buy if you want a unique gaming experience, love getting into character and goofing off with online players. That is, as long as you dont mind the high price point and the optimization issues. This game has huge potential and as of right now, I'm already satisfied.
