Product received for free

- only played free weekend
- would have bought if progression looked anything not dlc-bound

hunting sim very heavily into realism on the shots but so much so it's almost unrealistic in how it works. if you try to shoot anything but the starting deer with the starting rifle + rounds, you won't kill much aside from rabbits, since it's barely above a .22. the game rewards proper kills (lung shots; neck shots; not shots destroying trophies or that would spoil the meat, like the guts)

but so help you if you try to shoot anything else even directly in the face it'll be a glancing hit because the starting rifle just isn't very strong, but not in a tricky way, in a cheaty way

buying dlc would easily get you through the first while without worrying about that, and the progression in early game looked horrendously slow with anything decent locked behind a grind or pay wall

very pretty, shot physics maybe a bit exaggerated (probably would be more bullet drop than there is over long distances especially), but dam as a walking simulator it's very very pretty

too bad I just got VR and that's better for that anyway

if you are down for the depth of hunting, tracking, waiting a lot, waiting more, and not just a target simulator, then sure its a recommend, but probably not without several dlc too
