Insurgency: Sandstorm is a direct upgrade to the previous game Insurgency. The game revolves around realistic action which manifests its self if its stunning graphics, realistic gun physics and damage and realistic player models (I will touch on this later). The devs listen to their player base!

For an indie game it matches any AAA game in its category. The combat is intense and most of the time you will find yourself dying out of no where which can be frustrating at first but once you get used to the maps and what things look like you will start to die less and enjoy the game more. You will die very quickly, VERY quickly due to the realistic weapon damage. This can be frustrating but is something you get used to. Because of the type of game it is, you do need to put quite a few hours into it before you get good map sense and common player routes.

There is as pretty good selection of content to enjoy, CO-OP against AI, Casual and competitive play, an arcade mode (which usually consists of limited time content; usually a rework of an existing game mode) and community servers. The devs are always working on this game and each update either puts plenty of new weapons and maps into the game along with TONS of bug and quality of life changes. As I said before the player models are key to this type of game. They don't have rim lighting (like COD or R6) which makes them quite hard to see sometimes.

Cons:
Quite difficult to get used to (if you aren't already used to this type of game)
The community can be quite toxic some times

Pros:
lots of weapons and attachments to choose from
Plenty of large maps that offer plenty of attack routes that allow the player to choose their own routes
There are more run and gun classes and team oriented classes (for a commander to call in an airstrike they need an observer near them to call it in.
It's a good game buy it
