This is the same amazing game as we know it, but now even better. The Special Edition includes new features like remastered art and effects, volumetric god rays, dynamic depth of field, screen-space reflections, reworked textures, improved draw distance, improved combat distance, reworked colors and more. It's also on a 64bit engine now, which is way more stable and especially if you like to improve it with mods.

There's no point giving this game a negative review, since it's the beautiful Skyrim as we know it, but now with (slightly) improved graphics. If your modded original Skyrim was 'more beautiful' than this Remaster, you can make this Remaster even MORE beautiful than your old save, thanks to the better base game and it's 64 bit engine.

Besides, this was a free upgrade for those who already owned Skyrim + All DLC, so I see no reason to complain. Skyrim is my favorite game of all time, and now it's even better.

Update: there's also an uprade for the Anniversary Edition, which include all Creation Club content. It's up to you if it's worth it, but I had quite fun with it and it's nicely integrated into the main game.
