The only thing is this:

Arrowhead fails at running a live service game.
All the ways they fail, it's too long of a list. And all doubt is removed once you realize THEY MAKE BAD DECISIONS.

They cannot run a live service game. It is beyond them, and no one can untangle the mess now.

prologue was pretty bad, and the hand-holding "click here and there" tutorial did nothing to make me want to play a moment further.

This game sucks because it breaks the first rule of gaming - dont waste my time. take all my time, but wasting it bc you pack all of the gamble into the extraction , = bad game.

Had an absolute blast playing this game in 2023 about 30 hours. Modding scene is ACTIVE even today, new mods are still coming out, very very good overhaul mods which add tons of stuff.

From the very beginning, the difference between the good gaming era, and the modern one, are very apparent. It's just a great experience from the moment you load it up. You donthave to log in, you dont have stupid online nonesense, no stupid tutorial, just , enter game, and it's immediately fun & rewarding.

There's so, so much more game here that I look forward to.

This is not a response to the new game; if you have bought anything from EA in the last 10 years, i would say to hell with you, and I really mean it. That's nothing new.

been playing every day for about a week now.... game is very good. Good poker, good presentation, a little archaic, but , in a way contains a level of quality that you dont see any more in new releases. Like, someone actually cared about making this.

A concern with video poker is always, how real is it, or is it rigged for a false difficulty. I don't feel like this game is cheating hands in order to manufacture a difficulty. I might be getting easier cards in these early levels; i do seem to get an Ace high pretty often, but I havent played enough poker to really know. My guess is it's pretty straight.

the voices and animation are good (could be better). The progression is good, win tourneys and unlock new towns, buy up the properties for a small daily income, etc. There are even cosmetic hats to buy (with in-game funds of course). everything is good, but you wish everything was just a little bit better, bc then the game would easily be thrust into Great.

All in all... pretty damn nice. Chill and great to play.


one warning, some have had black screen and cant get game to load. I might have had that problem once, but it was so long ago idk. Anyway it runs just fine for me now

as with many steam games, following this the last few years has just been an avenue for the publisher to post advertisements. What a waste of my time, and sort of a subversion of good faith of followintg this game. Looking at the news feed confirms this. There's nothing new to this game, but only advertisements for other games.

So here's your review.

This game provides me with tremendous joy.

It's fun to watch in slow-mo as everything happens and every shot makes a difference. If I couldnt watch it in slow-mo, it would not be fun. That's what some other auto-battlers dont get.

it's honestly garbage. it's a bad game, and all attempts to mod out the badness after 80 hours have failed.

I dont recommend this game bc it has no day/night cycle. There is no sense of timing or pace, days go by in seconds and each season is just 30 days (or thereabouts) long... so seasons are like 10 minutes.
Your people never walk home at the end of the day, since ther eis no end of day. It's just always daytime as everyone constantly works, never going home, as the seasons race by around them.


really dumb system, and it's about time they stop making city builders & park sims & tycoon games with no organic daily cycle, where you can pinpoint the income and costs of each day based on what was done.

other than that it's the same as all other city builders, why bother.

game is beautiful looking..... too bad it will never be fun.
