Just a few minutes ago, a friend and I wanted to get back into this game. We had been making fun of it, and decided it was time for a fresh look at the game after almost a year and a half of not playing. He has an AMD FX-6300 OCed at 4.7 GHz and a GTX 960 Ti FTW, and he STILL got frames no more than 30 in RURAL areas! Our computers are quite good, and having a framerate of such aids is unacceptable. Do NOT buy this in its' current state. No matter how good your rig is, stay away.

I must say, the progress this game has made is very impressive. There's still a lot of work to be done, but the overall experience is actually almost on par with ARMA 2 DayZ in terms of depth. Especially on modded servers, it FEELS like a good and challenging survival game. The performance has increased substantially as well, leading to far less issues than I had before.

I can say, after almost 4 years of NOT recommending this game, that my opinion has changed. I highly suggest picking it up, loading up a modded server and having fun. It's very challenging, and still a bit of a running simulator, but that's getting a lot better.
