Origin stops me from opening the game.
The only fix is uninstalling Origin and running the game through Steam, which reinstalls Origin and launches the game... ONCE.
From then onwards, I need to uninstall Origin before I launch the game. Every. Single. Time.

I sincerely hope EA goes bankrupt or gets bought and Origin dies along with it.

I only just realised the first Dragon Age I played years ago was called ORIGINs... still want to buy though.

Electronic Arsehats strikes again. I've been waiting for them to slowly die for over a decade...it's happening, just slowly. Any luck they'll be acquired soon and broken into tiny little pieces and there will be no remains left of the original vile company that existed. First job of the new company, work heavily on reputation and consumer care second job, get rid of the Origin launcher.

So you people DO care about this stuff. Good. I'm new to modern gaming, and other than "The Sims 4" having literally at one point $1,000.00 worth of worthless DLC spread out over hundreds of releases . . . well, the EA Origin / Ubisoft [Something similar] background programs as a NECESSITY for GAMES WE PURCHASE is the most disgusting, immoral, shady shit ever.

It really makes me glad there are people disgusted with this practice, as I am. it's important we don't COMPLETELY hand over the art form to these monster corporations and their actually kind of diabolical Always-Online / Background Memory 'n' Info Jacking HORSESHIT that's absolutely holding the form back, even hurting it.

I'm old enough to remember a time when you bought a game, you owned it, that was that. you even had a cart to go along with it, but online stores like STEAM are, I guess, a necessary thing. Anyway. Don't give up.

It truly is a terrible launcher.
The areas in this game are far too large and empty as well. Bored me.

RIP old bioware.

Disgusting how the EA client is still is a thing. Steam launcher should be enough. Worked for the very first dragon age. I guess this game is just a spin-off of dragon age origins anyways with a mere few references or fanservices to the good old game which had found a perfect balance of story and fighting and a good take on a old trope.

Looking forward to replaying some mass effect too but i guess they butchered the playability after that cash grab called de-master or "hd" edition.

The only way I've managed to fix this issue with steam-origin games is to uninstall it on steam and reinstall it through origin.

The only thing that fixed it for me was launching through Frosty lol

had the same issue. Give ea link app admin privilege and it will do the job. But before running the game close the origin and extensions of it and check if any of em is still open from task manager. After i did these game opens everytime. And i opne the game from the files on the disk i have it.

i had the same issue. if you go into origin>application settings> origin in game> and enable/disable origin in game. i have to do this whenever i want to swap between dragon age 2 and inquisition but i hope it works for you
