Only buy if you are a hardcore AC fan or if you like Late Ptolemaic Egypt as a setting.

The game plays like an RPG which means levels are pretty important aside from gear. The problem is that the main quests' level requirement leaves you behind if you are not doing anything else. The game effectively cuts the momentum of the main story by forcing you to do repetitive and uninteresting side quests to keep up with the level requirement lest you get one-shotted by an enemy or deal with sponges.

When other games give side quests, they tend to be optional or lure the player in with an interesting premise. Not in Origins. I dropped the game 24 hours or so on my first playthrough. I picked it up recently starting fresh, and I am reminded near the quest where I stopped why I dropped it: Level gating.

Odyssey is more interesting either because they fixed the level gating or because the areas and the setting are more interesting. It felt bloated but it didn't stop my momentum just because either I was doing the main quest or I had something interesting to keep me going.
