If I have to pick one game from 2018. that stands out from the crowd, and provides unique player experience it must be Subnautica.

My personal GOTY 2018! It slightly redefined the survival genre, made it fun again to play but keep it interesting enough to keep you wanting to play more without making a chore of it! There were many games with different worlds released, especially open world games, but this one made an exploration thrilling again!

Story is interesting enough to keep you invested and motivating enough to keep you exploring more, further and deeper. But the devil is in all other systems that works very well, and when they click with you, magic happens!
