After almost 950 hours and just now getting past the tutorial, I can confidently say this is a damn good game.

95% of the DLC is solid and adds a lot, not to mention the robust modding community with things like Star Wars, Dune, etc. Pretty much every sci-fi trope and Empire can be re-created ingame and its just plain FUN!

The DLCs are still pretty expensive but they have done some things like bundles and seasons that makes it a bit easier on the wallet, so its hard to hold that against them - it is a fair point and is basically my only gripe about Paradox in general. As long as they keep being fun though I can handle that.
