If you are specifically using a quest 1 or 2 via PC, wired, the battery won't be a concern. If standalone or PCVR wireless, yes, it'll drain it's built in battery, and you'll want either the official battery strap, or get a different battery and or strap and get to modding. I've got a small, almost smartphone sized battery on the back headband of my quest 1, a 40$ aftermarket one, and it helps counterbalance while adding 2-3 times more gametime.
