Aaron Oldenburg is a game developer and new media artist whose primary interest is in game rules as an expressive medium. His video and interactive work has exhibited in festivals and galleries in New York, Berlin, São Paulo and Los Angeles, including SIGGRAPH and FILE Electronic Language International Festival.

He teaches game design as an Associate Professor in University of Baltimore's Simulation and Digital Entertainment program and has an MFA from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. In October 2003 he finished two years as an HIV Health Extension Agent for the Peace Corps in Mali, West Africa.

Yea, it was a bit hard at first because I was in Mexico alone. But I found out almost immediately that Mexico is actually full of really cool people :) I hope I get to go to China and Europe too.

That's awesome, thank you! I'm glad to hear that some of that came across. Yeah, I imagine there are a lot of similarities between the desert-y areas of Peru and Mexico :) That's cool that you get to travel around for your graduate school research.

Ah! Did you make that game? It is super cool. I tend to like more philosophocal games plus I am an archaeology graduate student who studies Mesoamerica. Playing the game made me feel like I was back in Oaxaca which I liked a lot. The feeling really matches the feel of the countryside in Mexico (though the game is not in Mexico, it is similar).
