Counter-Strike is a game fueled and established by its community. Not only did it rise from being a mere Half-Life mod, to being one of the most played games in history, but it's community is still thriving. Whether you're hyper-competitive, or more casual, between Valve services and community servers there's always something fun you can do. You can strive to be one of the best, as the skill ceiling is incredibly high -- where movement, teamwork, aim, and other skills all apply. Or you could choose to just have fun and look good, the aesthetic updates have really bolstered the fashionable and collector sides of the community. Not interested in that? Look to the community servers! There are other gamemodes like Surf, bhop, Zombie run, and others that provide an entirely different aspect of gameplay altogether. Since the game has become free now, I recommend that you at the very least give it a look, as it's not just another corporate sequel, but a game built and designed around the community that made it happen in the first place.
