What a refreshing game purchase. Being wary of buying new games, I watched a number of streams before picking this game up. The game very unapologetically borrows from the Souls games all over the place however it makes some great improvements to some of the more frustrating mechanics (you never lose character progress on death, no more corpse runs!)

Pro's
- Very tactical combat. Rolling for iframes through various attacks, managing lots of adds. Adrenaline pumping fight sequences.
- Difficulty is high without additional death penalties. Victory over tough sections feels highly rewarding.
- Even failure means progress. You keep adding XP, scrap (gold) and upgrade materials every time you wipe allowing you to level up to the content and eventually pass it.
- RNG everywhere. Each playthrough has random zones/bosses/loot from the overall pool meaning you keep coming back to fresh looks at familiar settings and hope to get the bosses and drops you are missing. High replayability.
- Multiplayer is fantastic.
- Environments are beautiful

Con's
- Story is interesting but never really becomes clear who or what the enemy really is.
- The level scaling mechanic is alright but at times it feels like improving your character makes the game harder (new zones have a formula based on your best equipment in which to tune enemy difficulty)
- Higher game difficulties grant higher XP but feel lacking in the rewards department compared to challenge increase.

Overall this is an incredible game and a significant value at the price point. Recommend highly. Developers at Gunfire are very close to the community via Discord and Reddit and have lots of exciting plans for how to continue to grow content for the game.

Buy it... like right now. Seriously stop reading reviews and buy it.
