This is a travel game for a night tour of a small town. The village head sees the beginning and the end, and finally comes out with a warm farewell. The villagers are hospitable, and the village secretary aunt enthusiastically solves the family conflicts for the man and his wife, and painstakingly persuades them to have family planning. It can also be regarded as a family planning propaganda film.
The plot is compact, the scenery is beautiful, and the details of the parents are depicted incisively and vividly.
No one's chicken is going to have a holiday today!
This is the mantra of the village secretary aunt.
After the great success of the previous work, instead of continuing the script that had already been developed, Outlast2 inherited the familiar night vision cameras, familiar Western journalists, familiar murder investigations, and familiar naked man chases, opening a new story.
Different scenes, the same core play, similar to mental hospitals, this rural area in the United States is full of ugly and dirty events, waiting for curious players to find out.
People always like to see sacred things desecrated, so Outlast2 chose a religious-themed script to make Christianity black.
In this religion-eroded countryside in the game, the villagers split into multiple factions because of disagreements among the leaders of their beliefs. They fought for their beliefs, and the Christian priest knoth changed his teachings into cults in order to satisfy his sexual desires.
The heresy who opposed the priest also carried out a mass slaughter out of hatred and vengeance.
Although religion attracts people to do good, because its subject is still human.
If people do evil, then any religious group can become a collective pervert.
Therefore, in the face of a group of sane people who go crazy to hunt down the protagonist because of their own ignorance, and to see piles of flesh and bodies due to the so-called "sacrifice" in the game, there is no doubt that collective crime is used to create a morbid environment. Compared with a generation of supernatural experimental scripts, I think the plot of this film is more intact, with a sense of guilt with people as the main body, and can make people shout and become abnormal.
And this kind of killing each other, innocent protagonists at the center of this evil whirlpool, for horror games such as escape, is quite necessary.
As far as gameplay is concerned, Outlast2 is still a very cute and lazy work. Although DV has evolved the function of microphone and has a new way to hide in the bucket under the bed, there are still not many new elements in the way of playing. It is still the "running after me" that is suitable for both young and old.
That's why I want to say that Outlast2 is very clever in its choice of subject matter, reopening a new story and a new theme, which not only makes the Outlast series easier to overturn and redo, but also continues the vitality of the series and becomes a powerful ip.
We know what kind of experience we want in this game, there is no need to add any new ways to play, as long as it is a new story, it means the same taste, a new environment, we can always maintain a sense of curiosity.
At the very least, I'm really looking forward to what kind of theme Outlast3 will choose if it comes along.
