UFO 50 is a game I would have happily payed $60 for. Fifty (mayyyyyybee more?) games for the low price of $25 is a criminally great deal. And yes, what we've got here are 50 video games. Not micro games, not mini games, not game-jam games. Every game in this collection are fully fledged games that would have been a full priced cartridge in the 80's. The fact that they all have a cohesive palette and sound font is elevated even MORE by the clear iteration and evolution of the games as you play them "chronologically".

There is a vast array of game genres, and even if you don't connect with a bunch of games here, there is no doubt in my mind you will become strongly hooked on several more, sinking hours into many of the offerings available. Even my 11yo child who swears she hates "simple graphic" pixel games has gotten hooked. Great games are great, regardless of resolution and fidelity, so even if you're put off by chunky pixels I defy you to sample each game here and not become enamored with several of them.

Good luck; have fun.

HROT is a fantastically great old school FPS. The setting is eerie and depressing while also being somehow whimsical and silly. The sound design is great - I hate how unsettling many of the noises are, but it plays into the setting so well. The weapons are mostly all great. Nothing that really breaks the mold, but the mold is there for a reason, right? They all work and have strengths and weaknesses. And the enemies hit HARD. I think the difficulty of Normal is tuned perfectly. I normally feel the need to bump FPS games up to their harder settings, but HROT kept me feeling challenged, but fair.

The game is highly worth it at full price - in fact I think the MSRP should be $25 so be grateful it's only $20. And if you ever see it on sale you should pull the trigger and go for it.

Possibly the most bored I've ever been during a video game, and I normally love walking simulators. This is droll and uninteresting, with basically no sounds in the game, just slowly walking from non sequitur to non sequitur. I recommend avoiding this game.

Pretty fun twin-stick-style arcade game. Much harder than the original, though. Great artwork and music, too. An easy buy for the price.

The game is cool. Fun pocket-sized FPS with 4 weapons, lots of secrets, and a short score-attack campaign. The music is great and fits the levels perfectly. The first 4 levels are gorgeous and fun to explore (personally I loathed level 5 and the new enemy's that blends in way too easily.) For $5 though it's a no brainer. Get this game today!

A fun pocket-sized arena FPS. Great art design and music, with fun combat, and a short list of enjoyable weapons. Really looking forward to the future of Apptivus, both in terms of content for this game, or any new games they make.

I'm sorry, but I tried real hard to give the game a fair shot. It looks pretty. The music is great. I love the vibe. But the combat is just trash that's so bad the game literally TELLS you to save scum it in the beginning. Which is compounded to be even worse when you get caught on ever little pebble, half of which are invisible. And while your kiteing enemies around while backpedaling you need to watch out for one-hit-kill water hazards. How are these different from safe water? You have to stare at it for 2 seconds and wait for a UI element to appear on the surface of the water. Real easy to do while strafing like crazy away from the worlds deadliest flee that somehow kills you in 3 hits with no cool-down on its attacks.

This reeks of a game that needed play-testing and a second person on the dev team to snap the auteur who made it back to reality. It's got great potential, but as it is, it's not fun ... in fact very frustrating.

Great visual style. Fun and spoopy Resident-Evil-like game. And very replayable!

Pretty fun, overall. I didn't find it scary, dreadful, or suspenseful at all, tbh, and the ending made me laugh, which is probably not the intended effect. But I like David, so even if "horror" isn't your kind of game I still recommend buying and trying Iron Lung to encourage weird little indie games made with heart.
