Early Access Review
DISCLAIMER/WARNING: THIS GAME TAKES SOME TIME TO LEARN/MASTER, IT IS ALSO EARLY ACCESS, AND A PRELUDE TO A BIGGER GAME WHICH WILL BE BUILT FROM THE SAME RESOURCES THIS GAME SHOWCASES.

The engine, physics, and combat mechanics of this game is like none other.
The learning curve is steep at first but once you overcome the unconventional but creative and flexible controls, this dungeon-crawler will satisfy you in ways you didn't even know it could.
These unconventional controls of course extend to the combat system.
Everything from how the characters walk to how they swing their weapons, and manouver around the furnished dungeons, is dictated by Physics.
This meaning; how much damage your strike will deal is 100% governed by how fast/hard it hits, how stable your footing is, and how un-protected the area you strike is.
This also means that if you're zooming through the dungeons at full sprint, you better make sure to watch out for stray furniture, unless you wanna trip, lose your footing, and fall flat on your face.
This also applies to any NPC, friendly or otherwise.
If they lose their balance, whether by tripping on furniture or other props, or by you hitting them so hard they physically lose their footing, they will ragdoll their way to the floor just like you would have in the same situation, making the playing field even and non-biased.
Said props can also be manipulated by the player, by you clicking and dragging them to where you want them, provided they are not too heavy/bulky, like for example a barrel or a heavy table.

This game recently updated to include their long-awaited magic system, in case physical brawn alone does not persuade you to delve into these depths.

The game also features a dedicated Arena game-mode for the ones who are more interested in honing their combat skills than the dungeon-crawl aspect of the game, or just for the ones who want to learn the system before subjecting themselves to the dangers of the dungeons.
In this gamemode you face a multitude of procedurally generated opponents with a wide array of weapons and armor.
Whenever you win a fight against them you gain money used to buy equipment for your own roster of fighters to help them survive their way through the ranks and levels of play.

All in all, whether you're fan of gritty dungeon-crawl loot-fests, or rising to the top in an arena setting, this is the game for you, if you're willing to subject yourself to the learning curve.
