The opening line in Mary's letter perfectly reflects the sentiments that the player base holds for this beloved game. In my restless dreams I see that town. Silent Hill.

- The entire team behind this game had an outstanding eye for detail. They held respect for the original, and most importantly a respect and deep awareness for the psychological and emotional impact of the incredible devastation/struggle we face as human beings in an often cruel world.

- The actors played the subtleties of their characters absolutely fantastically. From small and intentional vocal inflections to the tinier, but very crucial facial movements/expressions they made. They brought the writing together beautifully.

- Every level design was deeply thought out and intentional, from the props that were used, down to where they were purposefully placed. The aesthetics were absolutely stunning, I loved it. Amazing designers.

Although I feel as though some areas of the story, dialogue and level design could have been fleshed out a little more to be given more emotional impact, I actually like the remake more than the original. I'm just being incredibly knit-picky here, though. Overall the game was sensational through-and-through and anything it lacked is moot at best.

Frankly, I hope Konami decides to reboot the entirety of the early Silent Hill Series and elects Bloober as the team for the job; everyone involved just knew what they wanted, and knew exactly what they were doing. I could die happy playing A Bloober remake of 1, 3 and 4. The 4th installment was my favorite next to 2. I just relate to being trapped in a room with a metaphorical peephole and never being able to touch grass.

Edit: There was a HoLE here. It's gone now.
