Pretty good, bit short, scratches that same itch as The Room(s). Looking forward to Atlas.

Frustratingly good. Crashes a lot though, which is a shame. :( If you like bullet hell games, this'll prolly be your thing too.

Got it for free when it was given away in October.

Great game. Runs like a pig through molasses.

Edit: The way to get past the crash at this point is to switch the graphics down to zero and turn off _all_ post-processing in the config by setting the `Enabled 1` to `Enabled 0`. If you've done this correctly, everyone's eyes will disappear and all the characters will look really creepy, but it'll get you past the crash. I couldn't turn post-processing back on until _after_ the end of chapter 2, and the game still crashes if I try to re-enable Fringe (Chromic Abberation, which is mentioned a lot), but also if I switch the graphics back up above their lowest settings. I still don't feel I can recommend this game in its current state, but if you want to play what is essentially a PS1 demake of the game and see if for < 5€ then definitely pick it up.

Original comment:

The first 30 minutes of this game are fantastic. Unfortunately, I can't get any further than that as there's an unfixable crashbug when pushing the box in the village against the wall. Cannot recommend in its current state.

So, yes, I would recommend it, but beware that it is _incredibly_ frustrating to play with a K+M, so make sure you have a controller, and also the combat can be _infuriating_ at times. If you _are_ playing with K+M, then remap dodge from Z to CTRL and it literally changes the game. Other than that, it's a _fantastic_ story, and some of the cutscenes are better films than the actual films.

Some surprisingly well-presented run-and-gun fun. Looking forward to the sequel!

It's... fffinee? I guess? It's nowhere near as good as the Code Monkeys version, but I guess Hans im Glück and Z-Man Games decided they could make more money by yeeting the good game off a cliff rather than porting it, so, yay for them, I guess, but Under the Big Top will be the last expansion of the actual physical game I buy until they fix this ridiculous port. You can't even start a game with a Steam friend unless they're already online. :|

Edit 29th August 2020:

They seem to have actually fixed this issue in a recent update, as well as adding the ability to raid derelict shipwrecks and a few other much-needed quality-of-life changes, so I'm updating this review to a recommended based on the fact that they do seem to be actively maintaining and updating the game, and if they keep going in the direction it's going, they'll have something both enjoyable and unique on their hands. :)

Original review from 25th Aug 2020:

As much as I would love to recommend this game due to its novel take on the ship-building and resource-gathering genres, the constant stuttering of the mouse input-handling where I suddenly find myself staring 180 degrees from where I was previously walking, or suddenly looking at the floor or the ceiling make it absolutely unplayable, which is a real shame, because this game has so much potential which is squandered by a lack of attention to such a basic feature.
