This is personally my favorite FPS title over the last 2 years!
This game is set in the 1890s so the weaponry is going to represent that. (couple exceptions cause hey its a game)

The game has its pros/cons same as any game.
I personally don't feel like I've ran across many cheaters/script kitties as I've heard others talk about.
There are a couple times I've had instances of questionable deaths but as I said, this is far and few between in my experience.

Hunts competitive rating (MMR) leaves some to be desired in my opinion. I feel like they could have a larger spread but at the same time the game isn't massive so you don't want to spread players so far apart games are hard to find which is understandable.
The nice thing about the queue system is that you can play with anyone of any rating so if you are a 6-Star you can play with your friend that is a 1-Star.
My friends and I personally however keep our rating as a 4-Star or lower because if you get into 5 to 6-Star the game just becomes a server full of rats (people creeping slowly through the map not really fighting just sniping for headshots from a distance) which really kills battles/action.

The gameplay is PvPvE (Player vs Player vs Environment)
The whole goal of the game is to collect clues to find the location of the boss(up to hidden 2 bosses per match), kill the boss and banish it, collect the token once banished, and get to an extract before being killed by other players or monsters.
There are a max of 12 players in a match, this can be a mix of solo, duos, and trios.
When queuing up you can choose 3 options playing with solos only, solo/duos only or solos/duos/trios.
If you are doing solos only you can't take your own hunters into the match you can choose a couple weapon types to randomly spawn with but that's all.
If you are doing solos/duos or solos/duos/trios you have to bring a hunter into the match. You are able to choose what guns/tools you bring or don't bring into the match (there are a fairly large amount of options to fit your play style)
***Understand that if you die in a match and your teammates can't revive you by end of match, your hunter is lost forever***
You can get more hunters by buying them via in-game currency (which isn't hard to get) and they also give you 1 free hunter after every match so you always have at least 1 hunter no matter what. Obviously the more expensive hunters will come with better weapons then the cheaper hunters generally (not always though).

All DLCs are purely cosmetic and don't really change the gameplay itself per-say, however due to the graphical style used certain hunters appearances will be able to blend into certain parts of the map alot easier then others. The nice thing is though you can earn the paid currency (bloodbonds) by just playing the game. It will take you a while to amount a large amount of BloodBonds of course but if you don't just play every couple weeks they'll add up for you given some time.
(Its a live service game they have to pay for the servers somehow)

One of the big things to understand about this game is how bullets are dealt with. This has been a controversial topic in the community understandably as you want gunplay to feel good. I don't want to get to indepth at explaining it as Crytek has made an article about it here.
