There's a lot to be said about For the King. I believe it's way underrated. It plays a lot like a huge board game that requires a cooperative approach to every situation. It also offers some pretty great turn based combat. I really enjoyed For the King and its RPG style elements. The game had a fun learning curve and there's a lot to take in. I'd highly recommend starting the game on easy at first to learn the ropes as it tends to be quite difficult starting out. The story is pretty straightforward. You play as three heroes that have come to avenge the king who was recently slain. You and your party (3 player co-op) investigate the murder, and fight foes along the way as you uncover the plot & avenge your king. All the while CHOAS builds up, effecting the difficulty of your enemies and the dangers of traveling. You and your party get a life pool that if depleted, will mean perma death for your characters and a swift ending to the game.

This game was made for co-op, so I strongly suggest playing it with a friend. I wish it was 4 player co-op but alas, it's only 3. That's ok, better than nothing. Not enough great co-op games out there anymore, but I consider For the King to be one of them.
