For obvious reasons I wanted to wait unit Immortal Empires came out to write this review. Honestly, when it was just the base game, I was somewhat worried. Friends that I had played countless campaigns through the first two games, like myself, were not super interested in the story with the rifts and realms. Did I like the realm idea? Yes. However, I was easily able to play through every single legendary lord quite quickly and lost interest in the game for a good while.
Then, Immortal Empires. My friends and I are back in it. Trying different combinations of game play with the goody two-shoes factions and the baddies. We never really play against each other or use the competitive multiplayer so I cannot really speak to that. I do really enjoy that I can play with more than just one of my friends at a time so I do not have to worry about different mods for each save and splitting up my time. The game is not even all too bad when you just want to jump on and do a little map painting.
Anyway, Total War: Warhammer III is definitely a game that I would recommend to those who do just want to play by themselves and map paint, or someone who wants to get their friends involved in a good time with their friends.
