It's good game with excruciatingly slow development cycle. I feel there wouldn't be an episode 3 ever, because the devs are fixing some waterfall animations or some other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Don't get me wrong, polish is good, but when you have a working main story.

Most of my 90 hours was spent in sandbox, and by the 1$/1hour rule it's a worthy purchase, but don't expect any story to be finished in the near 2 years.

Can't recomend as it is now (12/03/2019). If you are ok with goalless sandbox - feel free to pick it up.

While we understand the desire to get more of the WINTERMUTE Story Mode we're hard at work on the next Episode (Three). In the meantime we've worked to address player feedback on the first two Episodes with our REDUX update which saw a significant overhaul to the game. If you haven't played the new versions of Episodes One and Two we'd recomend you go back and give it a go.

As you note there's also a sizeable amount of playtime in the Survival Mode and what we've been doing is balancing the development of both modes so that they both get worked on. Going forward we are working on splitting the team into two groups, one to focus on WINTERMUTE (Story Mode) and one to work on Survial Mode. This should help ensure timely releases for both.

I've been watching this game for years, ever since it first came out in early access. Bought into the hype in 2016 and promptly refunded it after I saw the emperor's clothing. Honestly it's remarkable how rabid the fanboys are about this game.

This has been on Steam since 2014. 5 years later you still don't have a finished product and have the nerve to charge $30 for this crap when it's not on sale. I think Star Citizen will be finished before this game, and that's saying something.

Agreed, it's been more than a year since the last episode of their story was released

Since then, they've just added minium "Overhauls" to the survival mode, adding a couple of clothing items, and a few mechanics

To the developer: Leaving the fanboys apart, common players don't care about the all mighty Redux update, those two episodes are over, all we want is to finish the story mode, which is what we PAID for!

Now, a new cooking system for survival??? Ja!

I'm tired of wearing always the same clothing in the game character, and having no animations when starting fire, harvesting resources, eating, repairing, crafting, cutting, etc, etc, etc

That's one of the problems with developers of these Early Access games. They treat the development like a hobby and not a job with clear goals. Maybe Hinterland has forgotten that PLAYING games is the hobby and NOT making them!!! They say they are "hard at work" making episode 3. So they've been hard at work for 2 years on 1 episode? I find that "hard to believe".

@hinterland_community Guys, guys. Let's not lie to each other, shall we? I agree that games should be released "when they are ready", but again, you were selling promises of a working story mode. There is only this much you can do in sandbox. And after spending 90 hours in - there isn't anything to do, but wait for a story mode. No I won't replay 1&2 episodes, because after 90 hours in sandbox it's artificial ceiling of recipes is annoying. I want the story, nothing else.

But I'm not going to get it I think. I have a feeling you ran out of money and one person is doing any development in his free time. I have no other explanation why it takes, what it is now? 2 years? To release a small piece of the story. And when you do release episode 3 we're gonna wait another 2 years for episode 4. Sorry guys, but f that.
