I tried to get into this because I liked the idea, but ultimately I think it's not for me. It just all feels a bit too repetitive and gets boring quickly. I never found myself making any really interesting decisions or mastering any systems. There's a lot of modifiers, effects, orders etc. to keep track of, but none that change your approach enough to make each settlement feel much different from the last.

Been having a lot of fun with this. It's clicked with me more than Slay the Spire (which I enjoyed but got bored with more quickly) - I like the autobattler aspect of setting up unit combinations on the different floors. Lots of fun ideas and playstyle variety so far, and a good system of progression which encourages trying new things.

I recommend looking up the Banner Unit mechanic, which is not really explained in game. Once I started focusing on fewer key units and not filling every floor necessarily, things went a lot smoother.

I'm playing without the Last Divinity DLC as it seems to be a bit divisive.

This game is delightful.

The core gameplay, including the way the classes have interesting roles and well-designed interactions, is really solid and fun.

The cave generation, mission objectives, and randomised enemy types all add just the right amount of variety, so that each mission feels like its own fresh adventure.

At the same time, the basic gameplay loop of mining and shooting and exploring becomes familiar enough to be relaxing. Still, there's a lot of depth and you feel like you're constantly getting better at the game.

Perhaps most importantly (for an online co-op) the community really is great. Worth noting that this is not an accident - there are many conscious design choices by the developers that support this.

Tip: if you're new to the game, I recommend going to UI settings and increasing the size and duration of the chat messages. The defaults make it easy to overlook things, especially when you're learning the game and things get hectic.

Fantastic game. The racing takes a little getting used to at first (with controls for both strafing and steering), but once it clicks, it is so much fun. It's basically pod-racing, pushing your rocket-powered contraption to its limits at high and extremely unsafe speeds, and trying to not explode too much. The tracks are wonderfully varied, interesting to drive on, and often quite beautiful. Each location has its own music which is actually quite good and has yet to become repetitive.

The career mode is fairly basic, but throws a nice variety of events at you with minimal downtime between races, and it does a good job of gradually ramping up your skill level as you advance to faster classes and get familiar with different tracks. You're always basically one button press away from the next event, which is quite refreshing compared to the often convoluted career modes in other racing games.

Each jump to a new class feels like insanity at first as you zip around like an out-of-control pinball on tracks you thought you knew, but you soon get used to it and wonder why driving slower was ever an option.

The DLC tracks are all good and worth getting IMO. Especially the Mars, Space Exploration and Return to Earth ones, but the Neptune and Vertex are good too.

I personally found this game to be fairly underwhelming, even though it seems most people enjoyed it.

The world was varied and often beautiful, but the puzzles were simple and repetitive.

The story was minimalistic, which is fine, but it didn't engage me personally. Despite all the praise it has received, the ending felt like it was trying too hard to elicit an emotional response, as if someone was holding a picture of a sad puppy in front of your face and everyone was calling it the pinnacle of interactive storytelling.

Feel free to ignore me, though, because as I said most people seemed to like it.
