This looks fun! I've been wanting to try a WW2 flight sim for a while.

Cant wait to start flying with you again. I will be home in Jan. We should get Krazybee fired up to start hitting the skies in IL2 as well!

have you ever tried a real flight sim? like il2 1946, il2 Clod, DCS, BMS...

"By far the best flight sim out there" is clearly DCS. Well, BMS too for that matter.
What you actually meant is probably the best realistic WWII aerial combat game instead. Even though it is a sim, but calling it "the best" is quite a stretch.
Not to mention that DCS is the best sim. Period.

they are trying to re-make IL2 1946, they will probably have three or four campaigns per theatre or front. each with 10 planes... now imagine how much work it would be too make every single plane with clickable cockpits, IL2 1946 doesnt have clickable cockpits, and thats considered one of the best flight sims ever. DCS takes about 6 months just to release 1 aircraft, i would say that IL2 has got pretty close flight models to DCS, but in the past 6 months they have released 6 planes, and the level of detail in the flight/damage models of each is pretty impressive, to make all the planes with clickable cockpits would just take too much time for what the devs are trying to acomplish.

I will just say here that IL-2 is not an "hardcore sim". It is very well done, gives a very good sensation of flight, and has very good flight, and, as you said, damage models (wich I really love)

Though, the engine management still is basic imho (you have an auto mixture/pitch), the cockpit is not clickable, and so all the systems are not represented etc...

This is not a bad thing, don't get me wrong. But IL-2: BoS is more "gamey" than "simmy".

so you think the yak-3P a 1945 fighter at tier 3 with a 4.7 BR is equal to everything else? and by pay to win, i really meant, pay to get an advntage over the other players, which helps you to win, like crew training, battle trophies, backup vehicles etc.
and war thunder is a completely different game, going for the arcade player base more so then IL2 Sturmovik and Cliffs of Dover and even DCS, they go for a more simulator player base.
