Horizon Forbidden West Review: Battling Giant Machines and Not Even Close to Done!

If you’re looking for a game that’ll have you glued to your couch for roughly 200 hours—and still leave you only halfway done—then look no further than Horizon Forbidden West. It’s got everything you need: robots the size of mountains, endless collectibles, and a storyline so gripping you’ll forget what day it is. Who needs the real world when you’ve got this?

Graphics:
First off, the graphics are mind-blowing. I’m talking about the kind of attention to detail where you could practically count the blades of grass Aloy runs through. Everything in this game is so meticulously designed, you’ll feel like you’re playing in an animated nature documentary—except there are machines, and they want to kill you. Small detail.

Gameplay:
You think you’re in for a short romp? Think again. This game is like an endless buffet of action-packed quests, side missions, and things to collect. Sure, you might aim to 100% it, but at 200 hours in, you’ll realize you’re still picking up stray machine parts and wondering why Aloy’s not the one wearing an exosuit by now. Good luck with that!

Music:
The soundtrack is as epic as the battles themselves. It’s got that "save the world while looking incredibly cool" vibe. Perfect for those moments when you're trying to sneak around a ThunderJaw or SlaughterSpine ...or, let’s be real, when you get caught and just start running for your life.

Storyline (and yes, Romance!):
Ah, the story. It’s fantastic. Full of intrigue, twists, and even a hint of romance for our beloved Aloy. Yes, amidst fighting machines and saving humanity, she manages to find time for a little bit of flirting. But, if you're hoping for a full-blown love story, don’t hold your breath. She’s got bigger (literally) things to worry about.

Entertainment Value:
Honestly, battling machines the size of small countries? Sign me up. The thrill never gets old, and every fight feels like you’re David facing off against Goliath...if Goliath was a mechanical war machine with missile launchers. Fun stuff.

So, basically for me, Horizon Forbidden West is an epic ride. The game gives you breathtaking visuals, an extensive world to explore, robots that’ll terrify and amaze you, and a story that'll pull you in for the long haul. It’s worth every hour... all 200 of them. Just don’t forget to eat. New Game + here I come!
