Easily the best mafia game because of gameplay and details, but I still recommend you play all of them, it's a wonderful experience with an exciting and thrilling story.

Although I can't recommend the definitive edition of mafia 2 or 3 over the originals because the changes are so minor.

Here's just a list of things that are good and bad.

Bad:

The characters feel like they're straight up from inside out.

Story feels generic and unoriginal.

Story doesn't follow up on the Arkham series of games.

Voice acting feels really lazy.

Constant stuttering spikes.

The game straight up lies to you about controls. The tutorial tells you the silent takedown button is Y on an Xbox controller and when you go and press Y behind an enemy you just alert everyone because your character just hits or shoots the guy you were trying to takedown. Sometimes the game also tells you the silent takedown is on X and when you press X, sure you takedown an enemy, BUT IT'S NOT ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SILENT.

You drive really slow and don't have a boost on the batbike or mobile or whatever it's called.

You don't have a cover system so it's really hard to takedown enemies behind corners and overall hide behind cover.

Cutscenes are too long and objectives are boring and lead you to just more and more boring cutscenes.

Combat system feels generic, because there's not really any kind of unique mechanics, every enemy is the same except for the occasional "tank" which instead of only spamming X on him you have to hold X every once in a while on him. Very creative...

Good:

Graphics are great.

Character design is good.

Animations are mostly beautiful and smooth.

That's about it...

The graphics are simple and beautiful. The game looks to be a simple zombie survival, but it is one of the most complex survival games I have ever played. The game is very punishing and hard and it WILL NOT go easy on you. Even when you do get the hang of it, it takes one small simple mistake or slip to destroy you. The map is insanely large and beautiful.
There is so much detail to the world of this game. If you survive for example a year, trees will start to grow on forest paths, houses will begin to deteriorate and plants will grow on them.
Your story in this game is not how you survived, it is how you died. Death is inevitable in this game no matter how long you survive or what you do.

To put it simply, very cozy and simple graphics and very complex, punishing and detailed gameplay.

Played it for a couple of mins, it's ok.

This game is SUPER fun. I really recommend buying it.

I really recommend this game. I played this through with my friend and alone and it was so much fun everytime. 10/10 game for me.
