I played the original back in 2008. Loved it and hated it at the same time. This remake is exactly what I wished it to be. I preloaded it and started right when it got released. Runs like a charm on my computer, no problems what so ever. And I get flashbacks to 2008 like every 5 mins. (I know this corner, wait... Wasn't there a hoard to spawn soon?) The atmosphere is on point. Huge recommendation to any Dead Space 1 fan.
