I was late to play Arma 2, and I haven't played in ages but I really liked it. I must say some of my best gaming hours ever were spent on this game, and the guns and mods were brilliant. Arma 2 was (at the time) the best simulation for army tactics and warfare. However, I mainly played the online mode's with mod's such as DayZ, it was amazing due to the fact it had features such as base building, storing loot, killing zombies, pvp with players, flying helicopters, driving vehicles etc. Arma 2 had many bug's and issues but once you got used to them you could avoid them, sometimes unavoidable it made the game funny, other times annoying. Now Arma 3 has a much larger community I expect Arma 2 is dying off, however Arma 3 is just as buggy but in different ways, and the devs appear to be more bothered about releasing DLC's than fixing bug's. Arma 2 was built on an older engine, so it very much had it's own feel and it's a classic IMO.
