This, in my opinion, is the peak of VR gaming in 2020. Not only is this one of the first VR games developed by a triple A developer, it raises the bar for VR games to be more than tech demos or experiences. Blade and Sorcery, Pavlov, and Beat Saber are all fantastic games, and still premiere VR titles, but Half Life Alyx gives a consistent, fun, and complete game within VR.

My first play-through took me 10 hours to complete. I took a lot of time to fully explore the environments and get as many collectibles as I could to get weapon upgrades. The story was captivating and adds to the existing Half Life universe. There are a few extremely notable set pieces that make this game worth it alone.

Overall, if you own a VR headset or are considering getting one, this game is an absolute must have. This is a fantastic return to form for Valve and I am extremely excited to see what they work on next.
