Hunt Showdown, in my opinion is the best shooter on the market today.

It's insanely organic, tactical, and flat out fun.

The gun play is magnificent, the world design is incredibly compelling and absorbing.

Despite what some might say, the community is pretty non-toxic. There is basically no t-bagging or ♥♥♥♥ talking. I have encountered straight up toxicity so infrequently that I can count it on my hands, despite thousands of matches.

This game DOES have a problem with cheaters though. There is a weird psy-op in the community where people will vehemently deny the existence of cheaters, but if you get to the 5 star region, it's so laughably obvious that a significant number of people are cheating. I'm not sure why Crytek doesn't address it, but I suspect it might be incompetence; They don' know how to implement and configure easy anti cheat for their game, which when done correctly is extremely effective.

That said, if you stay around 3- 4 star, the game is just so much fun, and there is always something new to learn to employ in the next match.

Ultimately, I think it's pretty evident Crytek does play their own game, and they do care about it a lot. Ignore what people say about the monetization. It's totally cosmetic, and not one bit of game play is pay-walled. I guess the people who complain about monetization expect them to update, maintain, and work on a game for years and years on their one time purchase 5 years ago.

I cannot recommend enough.
